The Universe in a Nutshell: From Big Bang to Dark Energy

A public lecture by IISc theoretical cosmologist Rajeev Kumar Jain exploring the evolution of the Universe, from the Big Bang to dark energy, and the mysteries of early-Universe physics.

About this event

Rajeev Kumar Jain will explore approximately 14 billion years of cosmic evolution, from the Universe’s earliest moments to the present. The lecture will examine how primordial fluctuations seeded cosmic structures and discuss the unresolved questions surrounding dark matter, dark energy and the properties of the Universe. It will also explore how early-Universe physics, primordial black holes, gravitational waves and cosmic microwave background observations can help uncover the physics underlying cosmic history. Rajeev Kumar Jain is a theoretical cosmologist at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. He completed his PhD at Harish-Chandra Research Institute and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Geneva and CP3-Origins in Denmark.
